Privacy Policy
This document outlines current privacy policy for counselling services provided and the management of client information. All principle requirements are followed and bound by the legal requirements of the National Privacy Principles from the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.
Privacy of all client information collected and held.
All client files and information is secure and locked only accessible to the counsellor. The client information held contains consent forms by the client with personal information such as; name, address, date of birth, contact number and other relevant information for the counselling service being provided. Session and personal information will be stored electronically and secured with an electronic password and accessed only by the counsellor.
Purpose of holding information
The information gathered is part of the counselling assessment and appropriate modalities strictly for the clients mental health treatment and support. The information and case notes documentation retained during sessions enables the counsellor to provide informed and relevant counselling services and support.
Request for access to client information
Upon request clients can review their information stored on file and may request a summary of case notes. The counsellor will encourage a meeting to discuss the contents and information.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, you are required to provide at least 48 hours notice, otherwise the full session fee will apply.
